The People
Of course, most revolutionists do not … really … want change. They simply want to sit in the driver’s seat.
But does he not claim to be acting for the people?
The people is an abstraction. It is one of those general terms that has no meaning in fact. For “the people” is in reality many peoples, with many interests, many possibilities. It is always interesting to me that none of these persons who claim to act for the people have ever consulted the people themselves.

After pondering it for many months, yesterday I pulled the trigger on a new guitar I’ve been drooling over. It costs twice as much as any guitar I have bought but it will probably be the last one.
It was when I seen Alex talking about it and playing that pushed me over the top. I have to have it.
This what it looks like (sans tremolo (whammy) bar).

Here’s Alex yappin about it.

And here he is making magic with it.

=====
If I could wave my magic wand…
I am made from the dust of the stars
And the oceans flow in my veins
Here I hide in the heart of the city
Like a stranger coming out of the rain
The evening plane rises up from the runway
Over constellations of light
I look down into a million houses
And wonder what you’re doing tonight
If I could wave my magic wand
I’d make everything all right
I’m not one to believe in magic
But I sometimes have a second-sight
I’m not one with a sense of proportion
When my heart still changes overnight
I had a dream of a winter garden
A midnight rendezvous
Silver, blue, and frozen silence
What a fool I was for you
I had a dream of the open water
I was swimming away out to sea
So deep I could never touch bottom
What a fool I used to be
If I could wave my magic wand
I’d set everybody free
I’m not one to believe in magic
Though my memory has a second-sight
I’m not one to go pointing my finger
When I radiate more heat than light
Don’t ask me
I’m just improvising
My illusion of careless flight
Can’t you see
My temperature’s rising
I radiate more heat than light
Don’t ask me
I’m just sympathizing
My illusions a harmless flight
Can’t you see
My temperature’s rising
I radiate more heat than light
No matter the cost of any musical instrument, the important factor is the owner’s ability to play it. Buying a $250,000. car does not make you an expert driver.
Cleme,
Ghost can play. He has talked about it off and on for years. I think what actually is important is if the player enjoys it.
I agree about the enjoyment. But some of the best music I’ve ever heard in my life was played on old, beat up instruments and antiques. Talking about one’s talent is one thing, actually being talented may be another.
Yesterday Sweetwater emailed me and said that the Plek System is going to take 3 weeks. Plek is a system they have designed and use to perfect the instrument based on the users particular preferences, and as a means of “blueprinting” it.
I watched their video and talked to my cousin, the specialist, and decided it’s well worth the extra $300. I didn’t know when I ordered it it was going to add 3 weeks to the delivery time. Yeah, I’m salivating profusedly. Maybe I’ll luck out and it will be delivered on my 70th birthday on the 31st. YAYYY!
Also thinking about diving deep and getting a new Marshall combo amp to go with the new stick. Scratch 2 things off my bucket list…
