Excellent JD. Dare I say, you may be the new Gerard?
Nah, Gerard stands alone, of course.
But that was some real decent writin’ right there.

Seems you and me may be close in age (me-1955) and I could relate with most of what you wrote. Everybody knows a “Joe”, don’t they?

Reading that evoked so many memories, most that have been submerged for decades. I thank you for that.

Keep it up!

Hey look, my name and email are already entered – all I have to do is click “Post Comment”.

Yes, quite the well written story.

I am a decade behind you and Ghost. I knew a gal some time back that had had beauty and personal charm but failed to make the right move in life every time she hit that point in life’s flow chart. Do you want to further fuck up your life, YES or NO? She flowed to YES, every time. You could put money on it. She would be the one to have opportunity with a good guy or Joe, and pick Joe. Over the years she would ask me for advice, then never take it. I was too old for her and she certainly would have put a dent in my life anyway. I lost track of her for quite some time. Ran into her at an airport a few years back. Same charming eyes and voice, but time takes its toll on all of us. No longer a 19 year old bombshell. She had been through a number of guys and had children with three of them. Currently divorced. I cannot save her. Nobody can.

Suggestion.
Open a text file and save it to your desktop.
(I know, I know, the desktop is already a nightmare)
As the thought hits you, write down a subject that you might want to write more about.

I do this with song lyrics and guitar tablature.
Yes, I write song lyrics and tab – they ain’t directly linked.
Prolly have more’n a hundred songs “started”.
Every few days I’ll open that file and scroll down and sometimes add another line or thought.

Musk unchained?
Or unhinged?

Elon Musk
@elonmusk
The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.

Take a big step back and FUCK YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.

Elon’s raging insults and endorsement of H1B visas is totally anti-MAGA but of all people to say, “This is cool” was Trump himself! That was disappointing. What nationality is the Vivek guy? Somehow I see dots connecting. I’ve spent some time in India it’s largely an open sewer. Here’s an item I encountered on Gab today… https://gab.com/aetherczar/posts/113732637696814600

And good luck to you DT and all participants at New American Digest. I’ll stop by from time to time for sure.

Please do.

I don’t think Trump is going to be the “Saviour of the Republic” that most people seem to hope for … if he actually takes office; I’ve some hesitation about assuming that.
.
On the other hand, we know what the alternative would have been.

Going to be an interesting January …

It’ll be more of the same.

Steal from the productive and give to the parasites while skimming 90% off the top for themselves.

’twas ever thus and forever will be

Trump has made some okay choices but he’s picked a lot who will continue the damage. The never-ending allegiance to Israel is suicide for America. I’m most impressed by Tom Homan and I’ll cheer if he begins a nation-wide whoop-ass operation regarding the border.

Your story reminded me of a memoir I just finished reading, DT. It’s called Driven, by
Melissa Stephenson, an excellent writer. She uses the cars she has owned and driven to
“drive” her memoir about her grief after her dearly beloved brother drunkenly takes his life. He sounds a lot like your Joe.
