Think of it as history.
When an authoritarian entity decides to obscure or erase certain pieces of history that might be uncomfortable to some, all lose access to that history and we’re all the worse for it because we cannot draw on that missing history in the future.

Ironically, isn’t that exactly what this argument is all about?

If the history of 9-11 was completely available we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.

Instead, we’d be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the mass extinction of criminal gov’t employees from around the world.

You are so smart, Ghost. “Ironically, isn’t that exactly what this argument is all about?” My feelings exactly and so well articulated – all of the above comment.

Your words instantly projected in my brain that before/after when Stalin photoshopped one of his ministers out of the stroll on the bridge. People who accept what authority tells them are like that silly cartoon of the dog drinking a cup of coffee in a room on fire. He says, “This is okay.” Another telling moment was when the Ghost of Christmas Present opened his robe to reveal to Scrooge two decrepit starving children. “This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see what is written which is Doom.” Ignorance comes from the word Ignore. To ignore is a willingness to avoid the truth as we are discussing it in this interchange of the past several hours. One who ignores the truth or is too lazy to seek it can only be defined as an ignoramus. These people are too stupid for me to know and easily avoided.

I will not apologize for sending in the article. Yesterday I believe I saw a blurb about the article stirring the pot and a lot of people responding. When people are afraid to examine history, especially history as it is being made, you have to ask why? Here, in the greatest, most Blessed nation in the annals of history we are witnessing the pillars of our foundation being destroyed and most people are not even aware. Most ( I would guess 75%) of American people do not care as long as they got their bag of chips and their tv works. Other people, a much smaller group do care and are made out to be crackpots, conspiracy nuts, chrome domes. There is an old cliche that basically says they are turning over in their graves. If there is even the slightest hint that maybe they, our founding fathers and all who have gone before us are not turning over in their graves but are observing from above, they are surely pissed. Rightfully so. Government sponsored subversion and those American Judas’, who so blindly toss away our heritage, may you all be rebuked.

While I agree with Ghost’s sentiments in general, this isn’t another government institution or government spokesman lying to us or shielding the truth from us yet again. This is a private site started and maintained by DT. In part to pay small homage to Gerard, with Neo’s blessing. (That is not inconsequential.) Those of us who gather here each day ought to do so with reverence for that. Or if not, at least with respect for it. We who gather here ought to be able to have honest discussions about difficult things without disrespecting one another for simply having a different perspective.

To use a metaphor, this is DT’s bus. He bought it. He owns it. He pays for the fuel. He changes the oil. He wipes the windows every morning before turning on and heating it up and letting us join him for the adventure of the day. He chooses where that adventure is going to lead us, at least initially. If one or several or all of us get too rowdy for his liking, he is well within his rights to stop the bus and invite one or several or all of us to get off. It’s his bus, and it is that simple. At least it seems that way to me.

As to the present question. I would like to see the post reinstated, with the comments. At least up to the point where they started making you feel uncomfortable, DT. In the future, I would suggest not publishing or depublishing a comment that you find offensive. With explanation or without, your choice. Perhaps with a suggestion to reword the comment in a way that seems less rancorous. Or not. Your bus, your rules.

Thanks for letting us come along for the ride. And thanks for inviting our opinions about a choice that is fundamentally yours.

I think you should repost “Sorry again Joe”, warts and all.

It was originally your suggestion, therefore your “vote” counts more than others. I’ll go ahead and re-post

Maybe post it without comments and nuke it again if calmer heads do not prevail. Or nuke the comments. Or nuke those posting foul comments from orbit. That’s the only way to be sure.
