I know you’ve had some sad days recently, so glad I could make you smile.

Impossible to articulate the words to describe such thoughts. To whoever wrote this, there is much more in life, much ,much more. Try this,“Keep doing good works and sharing, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that please God.”
“Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.”
I’m sorry you feel that way. I take it that writing is therapy for you so I’ll only suggest that you’ve turned your back on the only thing likely to ease your despair. That is just my opinion, although one that offers more hope than yours.
My youngest brother killed himself and while his earthly trouble was resolved, everyone in his orbit got to carry a load of garbage for the rest of their lives. No one has the right to inflict that on others.
My husband committed suicide. It took a couple years, including therapy, to realize I was not to blame in any way. It was his choice and his intention to hurt me. He lost. I got over it.
That’s very sad and a was a lousy thing for him to do, especially if his primary goal was to hurt you. My brother wasn’t so mean spirited, just selfish, thoughtless, and a coward. Mother got to bury the apple of her eye, at her expense, having previously buried her first born and second son, then her fourth son and her husband. Then she got to live 35 more years through breast cancer, two heart attacks, macular degeneration, thyroid issues, gall bladder surgery, and I don’t know what all. So I guess you could say she got over it too although I know that isn’t really true. She did persevere and she never lost faith. Perhaps she served as an example.
It wasn’t my intention to be critical of your poem but rather your “take”. I get that’s a distinction without a difference, at least in this case. The lessons are:
Don’t comment and
Don’t read the reviews.
Bilderback,
Not at all. Your lessons. Here, we can’t know who reads our words, nor can we know if the words did good or bad. But they do represent a point of view at that point in time.
Communication is the key to all successful human endeavors and without it we are just animals. Continue to be human.
As much as it pleases me when people express positive comments about my writing, I have never, and do not now, expect everyone to like everything I write. Criticism can teach me a lot from another’s point of view.
I am only expressing my own thoughts and opinions. But I’m more than willing to listen to anyone else’s point of view. I might just learn something and put it to use. (or not).
This is bleak.
Clever. But bleak.
SK, you made me smile.

I’m not inflicting anything on anyone.
I didn’t say you were.

Jean, I enjoy the comments posted, I learn a lot. Am learning to appreciate poetry as well. Some of the poetry comes right from the soul. Thank you.
You’re welcome, Joe.
