Well, take me back down where cool water flow, y’all
Let me remember things I love, Lord
Stoppin’ at the log where catfish bite
Walkin’ along the river road at night
Barefoot girls dancin’ in the moonlight

I can hear the bullfrog callin’ me, aw
Wonder if my rope’s still hangin’ to the tree, aw
Love to kick my feet way down the shallow water
Shoo fly, dragon fly, get back to mother
Pick up a flat rock, skip it across Green River

Up at Cody’s camp I spent my days, Lord
With flat car riders and cross-tie walkers
Old Cody Junior took me over
Said, “You’re gonna find the world is smolderin’
And if you get lost, come on home to Green River”

Come on home

One can feel the peace in this photo, Ghost. Did you write the poem (song)?

No. It’s a song from about 1970 by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
I suspect the Green River they are talking about is in Appalachia.

song here: (I’m sure you heard it, but not for a long time)

Creedence Clearwater Revival. That brings back good memories of cruising when my friends in a GTO or Chevelle with the 8 track playing and the windows down.

Next time you make refried beans use chicken broth instead of water.
My method: slow cooker

Dump 1 lb rinsed pinto beans in the slow cooker, then 2 qts of chicken broth, turn on high for 4 hours. Then turn down to low for 4 hours, checking every 2 hours. Add minced onions, peppers, herbs and spices as you see fit.

Beautiful and if I did not know better I would say he appears to be taking a short nap.

If you are in Green River, Utah I recommend the Tamarisk Restaurant. It’s right on the river.
