Changing Bad To Good

I have a teeny story about this I’ll relate at the bottom.

Henry Gross, a tremendous vocalist
“Simone” from 1973.

Henry Gross - Simone 1973

Simone though I know
How you’ve tried not to show
That you’ll leave me on my own some day
Here in my heart I can say

Simone we’ve begun
And darling you’re the one
I’ve been saying up these words to say
All my life, for today

Oh my darlin’, come and heal me
‘Cause I need to be your loving man
Oh my darling can you feel me
‘Said I’m giving you the best I can
Oh darling, take my hand

Simone I believe
In a while you will see
How very fine our love can be
Come build your dreams, next to me

Oh my darling, come and heal me
‘Cause I need to be your loving man
Oh my darling can you feel me
‘Said I’m giving you the best I can

==================

It was a Friday night and I didn’t have a date so I was driving around in my 66 Mustang convertible with the top down and the radio playing. There was a 6 pak of Bud on the seat and I was throwing the empties over my head and I was 18 years old.

The radio just played Henry Gross’s “SkinKing” song, which I never heard before but liked it, and then they came on with the question, “Who was the singer on the song “Nantucket Sleigh Ride”?*, which I happened to know. If you were the 3rd person to call in with the correct answer you’d win Henry Gross’s “Yellow” album.

I was driving down Highway 41 and was passing the Villa’s and lo and behold there was a phone booth out in the middle of know where. I dropped that dime and was the 3rd caller and got the answer correct. 53 years later I still have that album.

*BTW: Lesley West, Mountain.

Mental Illness

The New American Digest Posted on October 17, 2026 by DTOctober 16, 2026

I may not be evil but wicked, mean, and nasty are not unknown.
More often than not, I'm against the death penalty. But there are some situations where no doubt exists - "the sooner, the better".

If someone is so mentally defective as to commit heinous crimes, rather than let said defective soul return to society - "not guilty by reason of insanity", or even a "life sentence in a mental institution", the charge should be "guilty by reason of insanity" and such defective soul should be culled from the herd.

Such a soul desperately needs God's judgement. But if one believes in Heaven, one necessarily believes in Hell. And Hell wouldn't exist if all were forgiven.

There seems to be so much of it lately, such acts seem to be no longer be hidden, but celebrated.

In such cases as that below, as well as that Satan spawn that's filled the news lately, and the apparent copycat, it's society's obligation to send such to God for judgement.

The only "right" such a criminal has is the choice of means of execution. Or perhaps the way the KGB supposedly did ... while walking down the hallway, a sudden shot rings out ...

It took a few generations to get into this mess, it'll take generations to 'fix" the illness that has been allowed to affect the country. I don't think we have generations ... I'm not sure we have 3 months.

“This is the day which the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it”
Psalm 118:24

"So Long. See You All a Little Further Down the Road"

When my body won’t hold me anymore
And it finally lets me free
Where will I go?
Will the trade winds take me south through Georgia grain?
Or tropical rain?
Or snow from the heavens?
Will I join with the ocean blue?
Or run into a savior true?
And shake hands laughing
And walk through the night, straight to the light
Holding the love I’ve known in my life
And no hard feelings

The Feral Irishman

Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man,
play a song for me
I'm not sleepy
and there ain't no place I'm goin' to

Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man,
play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning,
I'll come followin' you

Take me for a trip upon
your magic swirling ship
All my senses have been stripped
And my hands can't feel to grip
And my toes too numb to step
Wait only for my boot heels to be wanderin'

I'm ready to go anywhere,
I'm ready for to fade
Unto my own parade
Cast your dancing spell my way
I promise to go under it

Men who saw night coming down about them could somehow act as if they stood at the edge of dawn.

From Gerard's site. The picture always caught my eye.
