And “Arrest Your Favorite Protestor Day” if the all the speculation of NoKings proves true. Even in a little town with a population of 5000 not far from here …
To say nothing of what may happen in the Middle East between the time I write this and the time you read it.

Correction: NO employees working in LAX Customs, but TSA is working. Can someone verify?
Of course, Customs is a whole different agency than TSA. That said, and with the caveat that I’ve been retired for 3 years now, there were times in my career where if we arrived very much earlier than scheduled, that they’d keep us on the airplane at the gate because Customs hadn’t opened yet. It’s a manpower thing, and they don’t necessarily run 24/7/365.

Is it possibe that you know someone who may have come into LAX yesteray? Do you have someone who could take a look at this terminal and tell us what is going on? I spoke to DD again today and she reaffirmed the situation. One customs agent on duty just waving everyone through.
Considering what you said about customs in the past I am wondering if they are protesting employee cutbacks and nobody has been told yet? That plane only has 76 seats, but I would like to know about the other planes passing through this or any of the other terminals on that day at that time. Thank you,
Three-hundred and eighty-eight. 388 years. I’m celebrating the 388 years of the army, and toasting a congratulations to my younger brothers in the US Army on their 250 years today. Someday they’ll be as old as the national guard.
Just finished watching the parade and enjoyed it very much. Now will grill some ribeyes and down some libations as I remember my family members who served in wars.
Oh! Let me add that the counter-protest to the army, the so-called no kings bullshit, is as tacky as hell. What else was tacky last week? Fucking Maxine Waters, the LA congesswoman, confronted some of my guard brothers in uniform, and asked them: had they shot any babies lately?
I call for the congresswoman’s censure before congress.

Yesterday morning the lovely Mrs. and I drove to Tucson to take the grandkids to a movie and pizza. It was just an overnight trip….we came back home this morning. Anyhoo, this morning as we drove through Oro Valley (a somewhat upscale area north of Tucson), we came upon their “No Kings” gathering. I’m just guessing, but they had maybe a thousand (?) on both the east and west sides of the road over maybe half a mile. There’s prolly not a poster board to be bought in Tucson as lots of them were were showing us their talents in elementary school arts and crafts. “He’s a dictator!” “A Facist!” “No Kings because MSNBC told me so!” Most of the crowd was middle-aged and older…..I noticed a number of grannies had decamped the harsher climate of the sidewalk next to the street and were protesting while tucked under the shade of nearby trees. I read an article from Tucson saying that they had a planned “motor march” (pardon the oxymoron) for this afternoon wherein you’d jump into your air conditioned car and drive in a circle around a downtown park. “That’ll teach ’em! We’re going to drive in a circle and maybe even honk the horn!” I guess that on a day when you’ll see 110°, staying in the air conditioning might be sensible. All snark aside, I’ll give the Oro Valley protesters some small bit of credit: I didn’t see one Mexican flag while at the same time, I did see more than a few American flags (although some were flown upside down). They may have figured out that waving that Mexican flag wasn’t playing well, even within spitting distance of the border.
So much fluff, idn’t it? Don’t these people have better things to do?
Say for example, if trump IS a dictator wouldn’t you be better off if you battened your hatches, boosted your reserves, empowered yourself the best that you can rather than standing on the curb pretending to be unsupervised little gurlz?
What this country desperately needs is about a 10 year stretch of really, REALLY hard times to blow the stink off.
Like, working hard in the sun at manual labor (digging ditches) from dawn to dusk for say, $10 and a bloney sando. Priorities would realign rather quickly I suppose.
Sorry Ghost–we are too too overpopulated now! Those hard times were managed by the people because they were very much alike even though different nationalities. That is not the case today. During the depression there was always the possibilty (hope) of a little bit of sandwich, or a little bit of a job. That would not happen today because of the numbers and technology.
