Terrace, Utah
Out in Utah ... in a place that makes Lucin look like civilization ... was once a division point for the Central Pacific's portion of the Transcontinental Railroad.
Built in 1869, abandoned in 1904 for new facilities in Montello, Nevada 40 miles west, Terrace, Utah was never anything more than a railroad town. Once having a population of about 1000, when the railroad pulled out, so did the residents, many taking their buildings with them to Montello.
