Final Act Coming
Sudden weather shift came with the eclipse … which I didn’t get to see for the cloud cover that night. We weren’t total but 98% on a lunar eclipse gets the point across.
High 90s/low 100s went to high 80s/low 90s overnight and predicted down another 10° by mid week. Clouds build, it’s trying real hard to rain. The winds have picked up and don’t fade away as quickly as just a week ago. It’s a bit chilly (66°) to sit out a windy morning to watch the sun rise with just a T-shirt. (but I’ll be out in a T-shirt when it gets up to 40 in a few months)
Summer’s putting on it’s final act – although not expected, 1st dusting of snow could show up in a few weeks – not a few months anymore. Time to put the winter emergency gear in the truck.
What happened to “I like winter?” Hell, I left the deserts because I missed winter.
I’ll be ready for mid-May here pretty soon.
And I am NOT ready for Christmas just yet. Get that stuff out of the stores.

About the time I really get tired of Summer, Fall is on its way. All good.
Nice muleys. Hope to see a few for viewing pleasure next week south of Colorado Springs. I am going black bear hunting. A nice guy I know from the industry I work in has a cabin and access to 400 acres for hunting. He invited me and I am going. Me, the old Caddy and my lefty Ruger M77 chambered in .30-06. The guy who has the cabin has been sending me non-stop game trail camera pictures of bear, deer, elk, turkey, fox, etc. Must be a zoo out there.
Went to the range to make slight adjustments on new 180gr. Hornady SST loads. I am set .75″ high at 100 yards. According to my host, shots should likely be that close. I used this same rifle a few years ago to shoot a cow elk at about 260 yards, near Alamosa CO.
I wash all of my clothes for the trip in scent free soap today. I start washing with scent free soap today also. Opening day is Wednesday.
18 hotel days in August for work, therefore I am ready for a few days off.
18 is too damn many. Been there, done that, don’t miss it. The part-time gig has me out about 5 or 10 and I’m tired of that too. Anyway, good luck in Colorado.

I’d be thrilled with Fall weather twelve months per year.
…and let’s just cancel xmas altogether.
