Easter Sunday

I was thinking of something to say on this Easter Sunday: “He has Risen” has been taken …
The Hallelujah Chorus is played quite a bit …
But this year seems different for some reason. He may have Risen but, promises aside, He’s not come back … yet.
So some believe.
Yet some want to speed up and force the process … on both sides … and this tune crossed my ears as I was contemplating filling this white space with pixels of darkness.
Maybe it’s most appropriate for this particular Sunday.
Christ or Muhammad al-Mahdi?
From 1970: “Thank Christ For The Bomb“
Or maybe – probably – Monday will come as usual …

I think they’re called “Hyacinth”, but I could be wrong.
My wife is the flower expert around here not me.
Little grape clusters, about 6″ tall.
The whole thing, the grape part is about 2″-3″
We have bazillions of em.
Started popping up a week or 2 ago.
Where’s the picture, Ghost? I know what you mean though. They are beautiful. A lovely greeting for celebration of the most important “event” in history. And yes, a
second wish for a Blessed and Happy Easter to all.
We used to find them in the woods…Grape Hyacinth.
They’re blooming all over my yard right now. Everyone does lilies and daffy-dills – gotta do something different.
May Easter be as pleasant a day for y’all as it is here.
Happy Easter, everyone!
HAPPY EASTER FROM THE PI!!!
We had an engagement dinner last night with one of my nephews. Gobs of family were there and everyone was asked to do introductions. When it was my turn, my wife asked me to speak in Tagalog. I made our family introduction in the local language.
I was praying for an Easter Miracle of our F15 pilot being rescued. That miracle came to pass. Thank you Lord. I have also been praying for a woman named Dawn that has chronic stomach issues and was hoping she could make it home from the hospital for Easter with her family. I have not heard back on that 2nd Miracle request yet.
Wife and I flew to the PI through Frisco on the way here. Getting ready to board the 777 I saw a large group of young men in very good physical condition and very short hair, waiting to board. Many of them carrying 8 1/2X 11 sheets of paper, or similar size folders. Orders. They were all Marines headed to the PI. Geez, they looked so young, and they are.
My son has recently gotten extended physicals and M249 training recently in his Army Reserve Unit. I suspect he may be deployed somewhere before long. We go to the range ~3 times a month and have been focusing more on shooting the AR15 than the Glox. He is good with both.
Every time I see a C130 I think of Azlib’s famous story.
Hello, Snakepit,
Your mention of the PI, Marines, and my old life on the C-130, in the context of the adventure in Iran of last weekend, had me flash back to this old anecdote…
Posted.
By the way, “the C130 is not a fighter”.
Seems to me it has a pretty good history of being a very effective gunship though.
Did I ever mention I once worked TDY at the Marietta plant where they built the 130s (and C5s)?
Impressive place.
Where was that Marietta plant located?
Marietta, Georgia outside Atlanta
Easter Bunny brung me a bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs
nom nom nom
And violets.
Ground cover, thousands of em.
The umbrella plants are popping up in the forest, and that’s indicative of where the Morels live.
Morel mushrooms. Man, I loved them and haven’t had a mess in 50 plus years. I need to go up in the woods tomorrow and see if I get lucky.
