I think we’re heading into the new season here in south central hoosierville. The temp is 67 at 11:30am.

Strong storms over night, high winds, power out at 4am til 10am. That’s always fun to wake up to. 2nd wave supposed to roll in later this afternoon.

Meanwhile I have a little “Magic House” design I’ve been struggling with for awhile. Each time I think it’s perfect another nasty little ogre surfaces and takes me down a peg. That’s what design is all about. Lot’s of little battles, win some – lose some, but in the end you win the war. Patience and perseverance are your allies and your weapons. FORWARD HO!

I used to do business travel to Indy and Cincinnati. Haven’t been that direction in a few years. Next trip I want to get coffee with Ghost.

I have family in WVA and have driven 64 and 70 gobs of times over the years. 70 Through Kansas is quite long drive of course. Going west you see Arrowhead in Missouri near the Kansas border, then a few hours later an eyeball view of Ft. Riley then a number of hours of flat, flat farmland. Seemingly endless and repeating fields of milo. Great pheasant hunting.

Lindbergh Lands!
==============

Lindbergh’s 33 1/2 hour flight ended 10:22 pm May 21, 1927. There was a crowd of 100,000 waiting to welcome him, a far cry from the 500 or so that saw him take off.

My Dh’s family were the first homesteaders in a lovely little valley in MT. The highway into and out of the valley was not paved until 1957. There still is a two room school. It is about the size of a small two bedroom cottage–it has been there since the turn of the last century. Sometime in the 1950’s Lindbergh flew over that valley and fell in love with the place. Bought a piece of the valley.

In the early 1960’s he walked into that schoolhouse graduation celebration. If memory serves me there were only 3 eighth graders “graduating” Eveyone in the room of course knew who he was. He was invited to “give a speech”.

In June the locals still talk about that “graduation day”.

I am trying to start a journal for my daughter to have when I have gone. Trying to do a good writing job and will appreciate any of your grammatical or otherwise comments that will help to improve any of my pieces. I have been known to “dangle my participles”! 🙂
