Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man,
play a song for me
I'm not sleepy
and there ain't no place I'm goin' to
Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man,
play a song for me
In the jingle jangle morning,
I'll come followin' you
Take me for a trip upon
your magic swirling ship
All my senses have been stripped
And my hands can't feel to grip
And my toes too numb to step
Wait only for my boot heels to be wanderin'
I'm ready to go anywhere,
I'm ready for to fade
Unto my own parade
Cast your dancing spell my way
I promise to go under it
In Fairview, MI, there’s an old service station, Cliff’s, whose building looks similar to this old station, but Cliff’s is not out of gas, and also has two gas pumps not just one. The best thing about Cliff’s is that his gas pumps are still analog, rather than the new-fangled digital pumps. Cliff still does wrenching too. Not many of these types of old gas stations around.
He ain’t lyin’!

I stopped here to get gas when I was working out of town. I didn’t expect it to be a full service gas station?!
the gas attendant was awesome, and he even washed my windows for me!
next time I go through there, I’ll definitely be stopping at Cliffs

It Ain’t The Heat!
=============
It’s the humidity
My mouse and hand are sticking to the mouse pad making it difficult to control while doing AutoCAD.
The temp is 70 and that is normally doable but today is rainy and the humidity is way up there.
So, I just turned on my air conditioner for the first time this year and it’ll probably stay on til early October.
I like that transition period in spring and fall, about 2 weeks to a month, when I don’t have to have the heat or air conditioner on and keep the windows open. I sit my phone against the monitor post (that holds 2 monitors) right in the middle and Merlin shows me all the birds it hears on the shepherd hook feeder and suet outside my window.
Now, summer begins and if I want to know about the birds on the feeder I have to “tab” to the vid-cam that is aimed at it. This morning I saw a bird on the feeder that I thought was a female Redwing Blackbird but Merlin was telling me it was a European Starling. Never knowingly seen one of them before. Burdz iz kool.
The Sturnis Vulgaris. Another illegal alien to the U.S.
Eating up all the nasty bugs the American birds won’t eat….
Murmurations of starlings, one of the most descriptive words for a flock of birds, along with a few others that are really good:
a murder of crows
a flight of doves
a mischief of magpies
a parliament of owls
Almost 8 years ago I wrote about a murder of crows.

We don’t have crows around here -usually ravens in this neck of the woods, but I’ve not even seem them around household DT. Now magpies we do have … and I feed the little critters. They mess with the cats … walk up to them and dare them to do anything about it while sharing the kitty-krunchies. The cats get a bit full of themselves at times anyway.
“mischief of magpies”
well-named
I’m not a pro in a field that uses such as AutoCAD (but I had a license for an NT machine around 20 some odd years ago if I recall), but I use FreeCAD and Blender quite a bit – I like the benefit/price ratio. Putting together a circa-1900 stamp mill at the moment. Framing is an interesting puzzle.
71 degrees out as I write this; dew point 37. Means the humidity is getting up there … 🙂
I like it dry – very dry. Death Valley in July dry. Not going to get that back east when I head that way in August.
You’ll probably hear that again as the season advances.
