Tunesday – Tommy James & Shondells “Crimson & Clover”
A sample of some obscure – and some maybe not obscure – tunes from my strange and off-the-wall collection.
Today’s selection: Tommy James & Shondells “Crimson & Clover” 1968
Her name was Diane. Blonde, large dark eyes. There was something about her.
Of course, I was far too young and had no idea what that something was.
I bought her this record as a present – must have been Christmas 1968.
I was certainly old enough to learn something about “that something” though.
It can be one-sided; she never spoke to me again.

Now that brought back a memory or two. Listening to 62 KGW over an old tube am radio that took a minute to warm up. And that brunette in the blue mini skirt walking into 7th grade math class and that first idea about girls. I saw her again last week. She’s with my best friend from school and I never had a chance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dtopRtx0Co
Some songs are better to be left behind and never thought of again. Merely reading the title of a song can cause ear worm, a painful affliction to overcome.
Now HERE’S a Tuesday tune for you! “She’s My Kind of Crazy” starring Erika Kirk, a 2012 video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtQ7TXvZOPI
I like Donald Jeffries’ commentary on all sorts of things. He’s written this item which brought the Erika video to my attention. Curiouser and curiouser, I think that was a Lewis Carroll phrase, is applicable to everything lately.

A bit of cringe for your Tuesday viewing. Here’s analysis of Erika’s recent visit to Charlie’s studio. Is anything real?
