OH this was pure joy! Thank you for posting.
My mom used to drive us from LA back to Cleveland for Christmas. We’d leave LA on Hwy 66 then after a couple o days we would turn off and go east towards KY. That saved us from going north through the winter mess of Chicago. We drove around and through KY many times, even through some of those “hollers”. Then headed north from there.
Today, I am always amazed when people tell me how tough the Montana weather and terrain are–I always think to myself, yes, but you have not been through the heartland of KY. That was some tough country! Thank you again for bringing those beautiful kids into our day. DH enjoyed it also.
