OK, I’m Not A Nice Person
Justification for the death penalty: a speedy trial and quicker execution.
While I sometimes have doubts about the death penalty, there are times when guilt is not questionable. This is one of those times.

This 22yo POS got upset yesterday in 7:30AM traffic outside Las Vegas and tried to pass on the shoulder (on I-215). When yelled at, he fired a shot into the other vehicle, killing an 11yo that was being taken to school. The child’s step-father then rammed the POS’s vehicle, forcing an accident preventing a hit-and-run (and blocking a major traffic artery for hours).
Said POS is charged with “open murder” and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
It appears both parties were playing leapfrog in traffic, but regards shooting: there is no doubt of guilt, there is no claim of self-defense, there is no justification for pulling the trigger regardless of how pissed he was; there is no need for this POS to consume any more oxygen – an on-going danger to those around him.
The 6th Amendment guarantees the right to a speedy trial.
Trial on Monday, execution on Tuesday.
Of course, we all know the trial will take forever … and if this POS can claim being a member of a privileged class, he will be released on minimum bail and eventually pardoned.

OK, first. If you had provided a link it would have saved me 2 seconds using google lens to find out what happened.
Second, I require multiple views to determine what happened because there is not one single person on the planet that is capable of telling the whole and completely truthful story right up front.
If the story was as you described then yes, he should be de-nutted and dead by Tues.
But it’s NOT as you described.
The story at the single link I looked at is incomplete and leaves lots of room for blame.
Take this for example:
The men got out and argued as traffic slowed around them. First responders arrived and tried to save the child, but the boy died from his injury.

Why didn’t the dad immediately pull over and try his best to save his son’s life?
Why did the dad instead:
After the shot, the stepfather rammed his car into Johns’ vehicle, forcing both cars to stop on the freeway.
The men got out and argued as traffic slowed around them. First responders arrived and tried to save the child, but the boy died from his injury.
===================
The asshole dad “argued” instead of rendering aid to his mortally wounded child. What kind of animal does that?
First responders??? Many minutes pass before first responders show up. What was that dad doing while all this time was passing? Oh, that’s right, he was ARGUING….
That’s what prissy bitches do. They argue.
Men get to work, they instantly assess (triage) and fix.
Pay attention!
I am NOT condoning the behavior of the shooter!
I am looking for the truth.
The dad played a part in this.
And his son paid the price.
People, in general, are some of the stupidest animals on the planet.
I allow you to check your own sources. Not everyone cares enough and I hesitate to put live links on the main page.
I checked multiple sources: national and two local (Vegas) sources (LV Review-Journal/LV FoxNews). They more or less agreed. I don’t disagree dad was not an innocent victim … they were playing leapfrog on a busy highway … but pulling a gun and shooting into a vehicle? Burn the POS.
DT, my point was based on the word “arguing”. Did the step dad punch or swing at the shooter? We don’t know. If he was aggressive enough to approach the shooter it’s possible he may have attacked him too. In that case, all bets are off I would have shot too.
Now, when exactly did the shooting occur? While the vehicles were in motion? It’s not clear from the article I read. It seems very possible that the step dad rammed the shooter (who may not have been a shooter yet) and then approached the shooter and then the shooting occurred. Therefore it would lend explanation as to why the dad didn’t render aid to his mortally wounded son – he didn’t know that he had been shot, cause he was arguing (and swinging at?) the shooter.
Again, if it is as you’ve described, kill his ass and be done with it. But we both know that’ll not happen. This shit will drag on and on and in the end the taxpayers get right in the ass. The entire justice system is a farce.
The articles implied the shooting occurred before parties left their vehicles. Perhaps. If the story is more or less true, stepdad should be charged with reckless driving. I’m pretty sure he’s already going to be charged with divorce papers.
The only justification for pulling a gun would be if Daddy pulled one first but the story didn’t give a hint of such a thing.
A follow-up article stated the shooter was denied bail so I suspect something more to the story.
“Investigators said two vehicles began jockeying for position on the freeway, trying to pass each other. When one of the vehicles attempted to pass the other on the shoulder of the highway, the occupants rolled down their windows, and a heated exchange ensued..”
Vegas is an ugly town to drive in.
I have never understood the mindset behind all this road rage stuff. I’m just not in that big of a hurry to possibly cause harm to my ride or me or any of my passengers.
Two guys go into a bank with intent to rob it. One of them shoots a guard, killing him. Both are guilty of murder under our system of justice.
Two guys mix it up on the highway with intent to injure each other. One of them cranks off a round with tragic results. With due consideration that the news media (spit) gets the initial reports wrong about 99 percent of the time, or near enough, give ’em both their fair trial and etc.
Your first para…I will never agree to that stuff.
Last time I looked, 3 mins ago, there is room for only 1 finger inside the trigger guard of my Beretta 92 FS. 1 shooter, but 2 murderers? Whoever came up with that law should also be charged with murder.
Thinking further on that original incident.
Supposedly one guy in a vehicle shoots at a second guy in another vehicle. So the 2nd guy plows into the first one causing him to stop, and then the 2nd guy approaches the 1st one??? Did he want a slug too?
Supposedly insanity has no limit, just varying degrees. lol
