Comment Images
Between Tom’s trouble posting a comment image and ghostsniper’s success in doing so, I dug a little deeper into the problem. It appears that images in WEBP format can not be inserted (huh???) but jpg can. Also acceptable: BMP, TIF, GIF, PNG.
Please keep images sizes to a max dimension of 800 px (and/or under 1M) or it may exceed the size limit.
Thanks for doing the research, DT. I should have snapped a photo off the computer monitor and then I would have had a jpg to submit. I clicked the image you posted, makes it larger to see better, and I am convinced those aren’t the same human. There were several Oswalds, too, and neither of them killed JFK.
Earlier this year I got fed up with using bullshit online file convertors and went searching…
I found “File Converter v2.0.2” (free) and installed it on my web machine.
Works great in my Windows 10.
Seems that nefarious webp extension has invaded the whole web and I grab a fair amount of graphics all the time.
The app above is installed in the pop up that occurs when you right click on any file, then you scroll to the convert part and it will ask what you want to convert it to, jpg, bmp, etc.
Click on the one you want and boom it gets done almost instantly.
After I verify it did indeed create the new file with my extension of choice I delete the old one.
I’ve been using this for a few months with no issues and it’s not just for webp files.
You can get that app here:

That looks like a very useful tool, however, I’m on a mac w/brave browser and this “file converter” appears to be a windows operation. Maybe there’s something out there I can download that compatible.
It might be overkill as it’s an image processor, but GIMP is free and runs on Mac (and Linux and WIN). It will do image conversion, cropping, and resizing. Learning curve may be a bit steep but simple enough once you get the hang of it.
