“How The Great Society Doomed The United States” at Wilder, Wealthy, and Wise

“Perhaps the worst seven years in the post-war history of the United States started in 1964. … Let’s start off with the worst one first. That is, of course, the Civil Rights Act of 1964.“
1st Amendment:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.“
The right of the people peaceably to assemble implies the “right” to not assemble. The Civil Rights Act eliminated that.

IMHO, the die was cast by the Progressive Amendments (16, 17, 18, and 19) to the Constitution, and the Progressive Disease in general.
Prior to that destroying the republic was extremely difficult.
After their passage, it became inevitable, and nonsense like the Great Society was just part of The Master Plan, working as intended. LBJ was a simpleton toady minion, not an archvillain mastermind.”He’s less of a Fullbright Scholar than he is a half-bright scholar.”
Without those Progressive amendments, there wouldn’t have been a democrat elected to the presidency since Woodrow Wilson, $20.67 would still obtain an ounce of .999 gold, the entire federal judiciary would be to the right of Antonin Scalia, there never would have been a Mafia bigger than about eight guys in New York, the entire federal government would fit in the
Old Executive Office Building, across the street from the White House, the entire Federal Code of laws would fit in two portable volumes, divorce would be as rare now as it was in 1910, and welfare non-existent.
Your only two points of contact with anyone in federal government would be voting for your congressweasel every two years, and the postman dropping off your mail, precisely as was the case – by express Founder’s design -from 1789-1920.
