Tunes For Tuesday – Dandy Warhols “You Were The Last High”
A sample of some obscure – and maybe not obscure – tunes from my strange and off-the-wall collection.
Today’s selection: Dandy Warhols “You Were The Last High” 2003
A band from Portland, OR first formed in 1994 as a group of friends who “needed music to drink to”.
Apparently, the band is still active, with 3 of the original 4 members and a newer drummer.
One of my “newer” selections … more than 20 years old? Oh my.
They were on the Good Will Hunting soundtrack almost THIRTY years ago if you really want it to hurt.
Karl never displeases:
Now let’s look at the meatpacking plant in Omaha. The story all over the media was one of crying and “fear”, allegedly; that the raid by ICE by inhumane and reprehensible. These people just wanted to work and better their lives; we screwed them because Trump is a bad man and so are all those who voted him into office on the basis of the promise to rid the United States of illegal immigration.
We now find out — conclusively — that the media and people on the left lied.
Ever had your identity stolen? How much did that cost you? In some cases it is irreparable harm but in all cases it is a serious pain in the neck and expensive as both time and direct monetary costs are very significant. Irreparable you say? Yep. Social Security, for example, will deny a legitimate disability claim if you’re “working” — but you’re not, really, in that your identity was stolen! Sorting that out and fixing it requires lawyers and you get to pay for them, never mind the time. You might die in the interim and you won’t get the money back you spent on the lawyers. What happens when said illegal alien’s wages go onto your earnings record and then the IRS comes after you because your reported income doesn’t match what they have, and your income, at the larger level, means your marginal rate has gone up and you own them more money or equally bad your Obamacare subsidy is phased out? You get a huge bill from the IRS for the “delinquent” taxes, interest and penalties which you do not owe and yet its your problem to sort it out and again that likely involves lawyers which you must pay for. What happens if you’re in college and of course as a student today you’re supposed to file a FAFSA and other income records to substantiate whatever financial aid you obtain — and the other reported income results in it being decreased or denied entirely while you’re in school? Who resolves that and who compensates you when you’re forced out of college because you can’t afford to attend with the reduced financial assistance and that time you lose sorting it out, which can take years, is irrevocable never mind the lawyers again.
The plant in fact did use E-Verify and the credentials were facially valid. But they were stolen and no, this is not “victimless”; every single person they were stolen from was materially harmed, that harm was not small and nobody ever recovers that because the person who imposed that cost on them has no money to pay even when they’re identified!
So much for the “no harm, no foul” claim; the truth is that there’s a lot of harm and its very foul.
Now on to the second: Nobody in America wants those jobs.
Oh really?

Watch both under 1 min vids.
You’ve never heard a prez speak like this before.
I could sit on the porch with this dood and find a “meeting of the minds” while we sipped some Hamm’s tall boys.
It seems like, he’s like us, but he’s surrounded by extreme incompetency and out of control criminality.
What a fucked up condition the “leadership” of this country is in.
I believe the productive people in this country would be waaay better off with no gov’t at all.

That was pretty good. THIS was damn fine… coming from DeSantis regarding property taxes. I’d love to hear Trump and others agree with DeSantis on this one… https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/06/governor-desantis-unleashes-property-taxes-calls-complete-abolition/
Property taxes are on the moon in FL and one of the reasons we moved. If property tax was eliminated I’d consider building a “winter home” in southwest FL.
The public school system absorbs at least half of the property taxes and we homeschooled our kid, so we had to pay and receive no benefit. THEFT!
There used to be a word that appeared in dictionaries long ago but is difficult to find anymore. This is from the original Webster’s 1828:
“ALLODIUM: Freehold estate; land which is the absolute property of the owner; real estate held in absolute independence, without being subject to any rent, service, or acknowledgement to a superior. It is thus opposed to feudal. In England, there is no allodial land, all land being held of the King; but in the United States most lands are allodial.”
All of that changed on March 9, 1933 when President Franklin Roosevelt declared the United States bankrupt by and through executive order nos. 6073, 6102, 6111, and 6260. Then on April 26, 1933 came Senate Resolution no. 62 which reads in part: “The ultimate ownership of all property is in the State; individual “ownership” is only by virtue of Government, i.e., law, amounting to mere user; and use must be in accordance with law and subordinate to the necessities of the State.” Actually, the Federal Reserve owns everything. That’s the jews. Look at the long list of directors. The Fed holds the bankrupt United States in receivership. The Fed recruited the tattered remnants of our government to enforce the terms of the bankruptcy.
We are only paying to use stuff we don’t own. That’s why your car gets towed away and held in ransom because of some administrative infraction of policy. You didn’t harm anyone… your license expired and now you’re walking home. Don’t pay the property tax and you’ll learn who actually owns your house.
When? April 9, 1933.
When?? Since April 26, 1933. Like slowly boiling the frog in water, it’s gone on so long that people think this is normal.
