Inspiration
came from a comment by reader SK this time.
A comment on yesterday’s post mentioned cowboys and included a link to a Dave Stamey song … which reminded me of another Dave Stamey song … “Tonopah” … which brought back memories.

Doesn’t everything these days? I wasn’t carrying a saddle though.
Oo oo, oh the night is fallin’
Oo oo, oh hear Nevada callin’
Hot dry and wind blown country callin’ me
Out where those shadows run so tall
Hot dry and wind blown country I can hear you callin’ me
Callin’ me back to Tonopah

His voice reminds me of that photo of old wood you posted a few days ago. Genuine, smooth, weathered and textured all at the same time. He sometimes reminds me a little of Gordon Lightfoot.
But he’s a real cowboy singing about things he knows and loves and it’s wonderful.
Enjoy your trip to Tonopah. You sure seem to like old mining towns!
Now we know where you’ll be for a while. Have a great time, DT.
Not gone yet. Couple weeks yet. Need to head to the Far East before I can make in back to Nevada. I’ll stack some eye candy in the hopper before I go.
Not like I was pushin’ ya out the door, senor, but have fun whenever 🙂 .
You’ve been waiting for it….
