Exposure

I once told myself I’d take up rock climbing if:
1) there was “something” up there worth seeing
2) I could chin myself with my off-arm (left in my case) 20 times and hold the position for at least a minute
To my knowledge, neither has occurred.

Never had an interest in that rock climbing stuff. That face has some cool coloration though.
In the army in germany in 1976 I participated in a 2 week exercise on the swiss border (Bad Tolz) called “Platoon Confidence Training” where we did things we had never done before.
Like, backing off of a cliff face much like that in your pik, 160 feet high. Rappelling. Terrifying. Saw a couple doods bawl like little gurls. Also did the Australian Rappel. In that one you go down face first. Then, with another dood on your back. Yes, really. The idea is that face first you can shoot a gun at people at the bottom.
Also during that course we did a 600′ zip line 300 feet up, before anybody knew what that was. Did an “Inverted Transverse” across that same deep chasm. That’s where you hang under a rope on a snap link and pull yourself across hand over hand. Then, the same thing on a 3 rope bridge. Yes, my foot slipped off many times in that 600′. Scary shit and I don’t think I’d do any of that stuff today unless my life depended on it.
Rock On!

Rock climbing is out of the question. I don’t like being on my 8′ ladder.
