It is not the generosity of the gov’t that I take exception with, but rather the stealing.

The gov’t can only give what it has first stolen, for it has nothing of it’s own.

The gov’t is the ultimate parasite, a parasite of force.

The gov’t steals under the threat of violence.

If you or I steal while threatening violence, ironically, the gov’t will cage or kill us.

There are many people that believe since the gov’t has already stolen from them, that they are under no obligation to be charitable to others.

Unintended consequences.

Aspen – Birch Trunks
================

Can’t say I ever seen this before, but I likes it.
A restaurant used a bunch of long tree trunks as design elements throughout the place. Used as design features and a means of defining spaces. Nifty!

I wonder what method they used, if any, to preserve the wood. Trees will change with the climate and that may not be a good thing.

Years ago, in Florida, I designed a restaurant named “Bahama Breeze” and it had a series of 40′ tall Royal Palm tree trunks flanking the foyer. They constructed a temporary jig on site for submerging the trunks in a wood preservation liquid under pressure. It basically encapsulated the wood molecules in a plasticized liquid.

The trunks were installed and mechanically anchored to the floor and huge palm fronds were manufactured and installed at the tops. It was a stunning presentation.

Practicing your Christianity by example is so much better than lecturing others about it.
