Tunesday: Jane – Jane Session
A sample of some obscure – and maybe not obscure – tunes from my strange and off-the-wall collection.
Today’s selection: Jane – “Jane Session” – 1974
German “kraut rock”.
Jane was formed in 1970. This cut is off their third album, Jane III – “a scorching guitar blowout“
Wiki describes Jane as “Playing a melodious synthesis of symphonic hard rock, that has occasionally been compared to Pink Floyd“
Not sure I agree with that description, particularly “compared to Pink Floyd” but I like a fair amount of their stuff.
This cut is a dual-guitar instrumental.

Thanks. That recording sounded rough but promising. I never heard of them but I’m going to delve deeper after having read their wiki.
I’m always disappointed in myself when I discover a band like this with such a deep and long history, yet some how I never heard of them.
Dueling guitars, (say, LP and strat) trading lead and rhythm roles back n forth gets me every time.

So, you’re fed up with society and want to live a life in peace, solace, contented, and more aligned with nature?
Well today’s your lucky day.
It’s rarely happens here, but a crib became available on my road about a mile up the hill from us.
I never met the current owner, other to wave when passing by, but we knew the previous occupants who moved away about 10 years ago.
Log home, in the woods, small acreage, wild assed animals are your neighbors, and a pond close by if you want to drop a hook.
Remember though, all of us are staunch freedomists and we mind our own business.
If you bring urban characteristics you won’t like it here, and quick.

I thought I was listening to Fleetwood Mac.
There does seem to be a bit of Peter Green influence in this.

I knew a gurl named Jane once.
She was single and drove a 1976 Orange Camaro.
In 1978 I was working part time nights at a Chevron gas station and she used to come in there a couple times a week and get gas and we’d converse.
She had long brown hair and a decent build and was very friendly and played classic rock on the tuner.
And she had a kid, about 2.
I saw him a couple times.
The kid prevented me from pursuing her very intently and eventually she stopped coming by. I think about her now and then.
The following year Starship dropped the toon “Jane” and her name was forever embedded in my brain.
Jane, you say, “It’s all over”
For you and me, girl
There’s a time for love
And a time for letting it be, baby
Jane, you’re playin’ a game called
Called hard to get by its real name
Makin’ believe that you just don’t feel the same
Oh, Jane
Jane, you’re playin’ a game
You never can win, girl
You’re stayin’ away, so I’ll ask you
“Where you’ve been, baby?”
Like a cat and a mouse (cat and a mouse)
From door to door and house to house
Don’t you pretend you don’t know
What I’m talkin’ about
Were all those nights we spent together, hey, hey
Only because you didn’t know better
I gotta know
Jane, you’re playin’ a game
You’re playin’ a game
Playin’ a game
Oh Jane, you’re playin’ a game of hide and go seek
Jane, you’re playin’ for fun
But I play for keeps, yes I do
That’s a game on me, yeah
(Jane, Jane, Jane)
It’s so plain to see
(Jane, Jane, Jane)
Jane, Jane, Jane, Jane, Jane, yeah
Why you fooling with me? Me, me
(Jane, Jane, Jane)
(Jane, Jane, Jane)
(Jane, Jane, Jane)
(Jane, Jane, Jane)
