How To Order Pizza To Go
submitted by G706
Back in the ancient times before days of China flu we had a Tap House in our small town and a brand new Mexican restaurant. Their pizza was ok and they had about a dozen different beers rotating on tap plus Coors Light or PBR. We would call in an order of pizza to go and in 15-20 minutes it would be ready and I would drive the 3 miles to town and pick it up.
During the China flu we ordered a lot of take out and tried to support the locals, but eventually the Tap House closed and a new one called Retro Pizza with video games, better pizza and limited beer options took it’s place. At some time in the China flu years I figured out that you don’t call in an order, instead you go to the restaurant and place an order to go. That way you can set down and order a beer or two and watch the ball game on the screen will they make the pizza.
If you don’t care for pizza just go across the street to the Mexican restaurant and sit at the bar and drink Dos Equis until the order is ready. During the covid you could even get margaritas to go with a piece of tape over the straw so you couldn’t drink on the way back, like that lasted until I left the parking lot!

We haven’t lived in a place with pizza delivery since 1988.
Thinking about it, it seems kinda weerd, someone delivering food to the house.
Also since 1988 we’ve only had take-out ‘za maybe 3 times. It’s not very convenient, especially when you have to reheat it in the oven by the time we get home.
So, we’ve learned to do without for the most part.
Maybe every few months or so we’ll get a box ‘za at the store, usually a Red Baron Supreme.
So far this year we have not eaten out even one time.
Maybe the end of Jan, my birthday, we’ll chow down at a mexican joint we’ve been to. I like their Monterey fajitas but they ruin me for the rest of the day.

Right out of a CJ Box book. Joe Pickett would have a payday tracking these sicko’s and Nate Romanowski would relish payback.
Jeez, that was grisly.
I wonder if John Venlet remembers this as he’s from that area.
In the summer of 2008, Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chávez boasted to his bodyguard, “I’m about to elect the first black president of the United States.” And he did.

We haven’t done a delivery or pre-cooked take-out pizza since Papa Murphy came to town.
When in Northwest Ohio, Bell Mell’s in Port Clinton or Porky’s Pizza Trof out by the nuke plant west of Camp Perry hits the spot. You’re welcome.
We had good pizza place less than a mile away. City next to ICTdecided to widen and repave a 2/3 mile section of the road. The pizza joint sat on the far end of this stretch. That road fix turned into a goat screw. Road was widened and one side repaved, then sections of it began to sink. They there were also legal problems with the railroad the new road crossed. The sinking sections were repaved and they sunk again. The town ran out of money and it has been 30mph unfinished construction zone for two years. Nobody wants to drive that stretch and I think that KIAd the pizza joint.
Happy Monday. Haven’t been to werk in nine days. Today should be interesting. My DEROS calendar shows I should be down to 13 months.
