I tend to split the Boomers (me and you) into two groups: post WWII to 1955, 1955 to Kennedy’s assassination … or expressed another way, those old enough to be drafted into Vietnam, and those too young. Someone born in 1946 was 20 in 1966; someone born in 1964 age 20 in 1984. Far different childhood experiences. Likely the same for the other generations as well

Trump’s Speech
=============

Anybody watch it?
Was it worth looking at?

I can’t imagine that he could say anything that would be worth listening to.

Didn’t find out about it til it was almost over and by then I was well into my private on-site concert and couldn’t be bothered with such a thing.

I might look it up later today but probably not.

Trump, like all other living politicians mainly disgusts me.

American politics has been, for a long time – perhaps from the beginning, a realm of criminal deception and though it’s unfortunate things are that way, I have gotten used to the idea of constantly being on guard to correct my own direction so as to avoid any conflict with it.

You said, “American politics has been, for a long time – perhaps from the beginning, a realm of criminal deception”. I say, the prefix is poli–politics—poli means basically many, tics means blood suckers.

Liberty Valance
============

Was there ever a Lee Marvin movie where he was NOT a nasty mean ass?

Currently Grit TV is running a Christmas line up named “The 12 Dukes of Gritmas” (clever, no?) featuring John Wayne movies.

Last night they showed “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance” and my wife doesn’t care for LM so I sat out here in my office and watched it while sipping some juice, working on an autocad project, and dikkin off.

I find it a little more than miraculous that Duke could time that shot so perfectly…..

Oh come on, you don’t remember I Was Born Under a Wandering Star? One of my favorite movies. The critics were “meh”, the public was “meh”, the movie lost money, but I don’t care I like it.

I like the movie as well but Lee Marvin is a “singer” only when compared to Clint Eastwood.

Musicals, and old Elvis movies, never did it for me.
Middle of a fight and suddenly everybody breaks out in song and dance? LOL I don’t get it!
