I, for one, am happy that the answer to both final questions is that you did, DT. Happy Anniversary and Blessings for the New Year!

2026, the end of the beginning?
========================

I’ve been saying it for awhile but it still has not happened.
The day I stop “logging in”.

You know me as ghostsniper, a silly name bestowed me about 27 years ago by fellow bidders on eBay. But you also know that (tongue in cheek) there is a real person behind that name. A couple people here know that for sure.

You could say that ghostsniper is a lie and that would be true. But maybe it’s in the category of a white lie. A lie that is meant to be good, not bad. Does that make sense?

“I am he as you are he, as you are me and we are all together”

As you know AI is accelerating and taking over everything and in some cases, annoyingly so. Have the youtube videos caught you yet? Have your bank accounts or credit cards been hacked yet? Has you real identity been compromised in any way yet?

AI is coming on strong, and full steam ahead. The geni has come out of the lantern and pandora has been released as well and you can’t put toothpaste back in the tube. It’s only wise to consider what the future holds for you because we are all diving headlong into it.

I may be going back to who I really am and the unreality of the internet may be abandoned. I’m OK with paying cash at bricks n mortars, are you? The 17th century might be right around the corner.
Think BIG.
=======================

“Deepfakes have moved from novelty to norm, quietly dismantling the most basic assumption of the digital age: that the person on your screen is real. Generative AI has made synthetic faces, voices, and entire identities cheap, scalable, and disposable.

Fraud has been industrialized. CEOs are impersonated in video calls ordering wire transfers. Job interviews are hijacked by fake applicants who pass every test. Voice clones of family members beg for ransom money. Political figures are made to say things they never said, at precisely the moment such statements would do maximum damage.

The problem is no longer visual trickery. It is identity collapse.”
