After our son flew the nest in 2000 we realized Christmas really was all about the kids. My wife and I had to inject new life into it. She still acts like a kid lives in our home at Christmas time, and maybe that kid is her.
Next Feb it will be 42 years since we tied the knot, and with a prior year of cohabitating, 43 years total. Somewhere along the way we learned how to be friends.
Looks like much of Idaho will have a white Christmas.
But not for us. (frown)
Idaho’s not a small state. I live in the “not expected” part of the state just east of the Oregon border (I can see Oregon from the front door). It’s been raining here the past week with lows in the 40s. Weather Underground predicts temps in the 30s not until next week.

CHRISTMAS DREAM This one fits with the theme of the post …. could just as easily be a note on the Tuesday Tunes slot.

In my opinion “We lost it somewhere along the way” is by far the best of the best. May everyones Christmas be Blessed with warmth and friendship.

If it were based on truth it would be easier to hold onto.
Jean, I did not view it as negativity. I spent the better part of my life studying scripture and had a feeling that you were approaching it from an historical perspective. As ghost sniper said, “Everyone’s moods fluctuate all the time, it’s how we rock. If they didn’t then we’d be inanimate rocks.”

Here we will gather with family, just like has happened as long as I can remember. At the house were my grandparents and later my parents lived. They are all gone but the tradition continues with a new generation. If you bought a Christmas tree off a lot think of my brother and my son who spent November hauling trees from tree farms to the shipping area. This job is done by farmers with ancient 10 wheel trucks. I will try to post a youtube link. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HRpdkhLX754

My dear mom worked for us,fo the dream of California—jobs and sunshine. She made a simple pleasant middle class life for us.she worked her own beauty shop and cleaned offices at night. I would go with her. One Christmas my gift. Was a doll that looked very much like my old worn out doll . The rubber type body and face were still in pretty good shape but the dress was worn out as were the features of the face on my old doll. My “new” Christmas present doll had a new dress (hand sewn) and the features of her face were not clean precise lines. I remember recognizing her—kind of. I remember trying to pretend ,but I knew. She could see I knew.l told her I loved her. Please forgive the poor punctuation I am on the road for Christmas and typing from my IPad ! Wishing all here A Very Merry Christmas and Happy and healthy New Year!

Jean, I think it is for the child in us. I grew up dirt poor but Christmas always brought a little warmth and light to my childhood.
Fluctuating moods have been with me most of my life.
I should try harder not to inflict my negativity on others.
I apologize.
Everyone’s moods fluctuate all the time, it’s how we rock. If they didn’t then we’d be inanimate rocks.
Here, I sliced you off a nice section of cake.
Thank you!

From “The Matrix”. The red pill is enlightening to the real world, the blue pill maintains the illusion.
Merry Christmas
I’ll take the blue pill, too.
Merry Christmas to you and all!
