I have been distracted from the news and following the progress and adventures of my boys and their 72 F250. Just currently crossed from Wyoming to Colorado following Wyoming 430 and Colorado 10N. I’m guessing there wasn’t a lot of traffic from Rock Springs going south. Trying to avoid the Interstates since the top speed is about 60

Those old trucks don’t go fast but they do keep going.

This is the first time I have noticed the beautiful banner at the top. I like it.

I just changed the banner photo. I’ll change it every quarter or so.

That cloud in the banner is beautiful. Looks like a big pink goose with its neck stretched forward.

Remnants of a pterodactyl flying left to right…….fading – becoming only a memory or a reminder.

It’s 6:30am so maybe I’m not fully awake yet.
I’m burning out, think maybe it’s time to transcend.
Immerse myself in something completely diff.
Something that will consume me entirely.
I can only take so much insanity.

Need to work on that “burn out” stuff. At your age, to “burn out” is almost the same as “give up” … and that IS a quick way to swallowing dirt. Happened to my mom; happened to the husbands of a couple of friends of mine. Live long and piss the bastards off with your existence. Keep poking the bear.

I find it’s best to keep an eye on the enemy … and probably your allies as well. Following memes and blogs seem to be the best way to do so; certainly not by way of “CBS Nightly News” – that will drive you crazy. You may not be interested in them but they are certainly interested in you. Gotta keep an eye on that.

For another, little of this affects us directly and most of that is nothing we can do anything about anyway. Except making sure we aren’t where the action is.

You’re already “prepared” anyway (aren’t you?) for what may come that we may survive … so rather than transcend to a different plane (which is coming too soon for us not-as-young-as-we-used-to-be folks anyway), sit back, eat the figurative popcorn, and enjoy the show.

Me? I build dioramas with laser cutters and 3D printers. Puts my mind elsewhere for a while.

Is this a diorama, DT? Pretty darn realistic if it is.

It is. Thank you. The far fuzzy background to left and sky are real.

Very nice, DT. I’ve actually thought about doing stuff like that.

Thanks. Give it a try – pleasingly frustrating enough to distract you from “reality”. Scale is 1:87. A bit different than 1:1. Based on a 1897 photo of a now totally defunct mining town in SW Idaho.

Pretty small. Is 1:87 HO gauge?
I have a large 0 Gauge MTH train set up and thought about making diorama’s in that scale. The locomotive, and cars, are each about 12″ long.
