it’s been a long time
since my last confession.
Do you feel better after Amen?
I thought about joining a convent
until I read “The Nun’s Story”.
That’s when I started asking questions.
I was 10.
I like that picture.

It has me thinking about the structural wisdom of that balcony and I wonder who is watching all that television.
And then there is what I see as the man’s loneliness.

I’m hoping the man is just pondering life in general.

Solitude

The man is old, his wife long gone, kids are vacant, but he gets along.
Recieves a small pension, his needs are small, his wants are smaller, almost nothing at all.
The tower is tall, affords a long view, makes reports by radios, for a weekly pound or two.
He climbs the ladder, nods to the bird, the days are lonely, never a spoken word.
Sits bt the railing, lives in his mind, his friends are his memories, the ghostly kind.
He learned contentment, thankful for what he’s got, we should all take note, don’t want for naught.
This is his message, take it for what it’s worth, sometimes life’s real meaning, can go unheard.
