ghost maybe, but I was never a hippie. I favored Goldwater in ’64 (though way too young to vote), never made sense to me to sick a flower in a rifle barrel that was nominally going to be used against me. And a bit past hippie days, but McGovern was a twit. Wasn’t overly excited about Bobby Kennedy either.
Until I was in my late 30’s I thought politicks was just a bunch of old doods gathering around going blah-Blah-BLAH. The whole thing seemed overly complicated, speaker of the house, cabinet members, vice this, secretary that, why is it all so complicated?
Then when jethro klintin came onboard and was plastered across all media 24/7 and I discovered Rush Limbaugh who some how broke it all down to bite size bits, I was able to start digesting it little by little.
Politicks, once I got past the initial learning curve, seemed like a disastrous train wreck but I couldn’t stop looking. The more I looked the worse it got but to not look was the worst case of all. You can’t unknow stuff no matter how much 100 proof you drown in.
Hippy? Not sure what that is, nor do I think most other people do neither. Seems to be a meme word meant to be whatever the person saying it wants it to mean.
Dirty assed hippy? What if I shower daily?
Long haired ying yang? WTF is a ying yang and didn’t Geo Wash have long hair?
Silly assed flower child with no sense of reality? That one is just retarded.
Dope smokin’ lunatic? Much worse than an alcoholic wife beater.
I got throwed out of school for the length of my hair.
I got punished repeatedly in the army for the microscopic over lengths of my crew cuts.
My dad threw me out of the house because of my refusal to get a haircut.
During architecture interviews my “look” was questioned.
To this day my hair is long and there was no real reason for it. It was never my “identity” nor my qualification it was always just a comfort thing, I feel comfortable with longer hair and if other people have a problem with that they are too shallow for my aquaintance.
And there NEVER any “chicks for free”.
I always paid dearly – even the cheap ones were expensive.
Yeah, I spent a week in Barstow one night, they told me all about it the next day.
heh..I knew you were a hippy.

On the other hand … the music and hippie chicks 🙂

See my beard,
Ain’t it weird?
Don’t be sceired,
It’s just a beard.
